Offset Is Opening Up About His Marriage With Cardi B (Watch Video)

In a new interview on the radio show The Breakfast Club, released on Wednesday, rapper Offset revealed that he was scared he was going to lose Cardi, 26, amid the rumors of his infidelity that caused their split in December

— and talked about what the couple is doing now to repair their relationship after reconciling.

“You gotta go through steps and different things so that we can grow,” the rapper, 27, said. “Not on the TV though, real behind the scenes, getting to know each other, getting to know who you’re with and appreciate them all the way around. Because that one mistake made me appreciate her.”

Co-host Charlamagne Tha God followed up, asking, “So Y'all did the marriage counseling and all that?”

“We’re working through it,” Offset, who just released his solo album Father of 4, answered. “Gotta work, gotta keep. Don’t stop… we’re young, man.”

The couple shares a daughter, 7-month-old Kulture Kiari, who was born in July 2018.

Earlier this month, Cardi opened up to Harper’s Bazaar about her marriage to Offset and her choice to leave her husband late last year.

“I decided on my own,” she says. “Nobody makes my decisions about my life but me. I didn’t want to go to marriage counseling. He suggested it, but it’s like, ‘I don’t want to go.’ There’s no counselor or nothing that could make me change my mind.”

A source recently told PEOPLE that Offset had been working overtime to win back his wife — including the time he crashed her concert to offer a heran emotional apology and $15,000 worth of flowers.
