
President, Muhammadu Buhari is currently holding a closed-door meeting with some state governors.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, and Governor Abdulaziz Yari, the chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) are also in attendance.
The meeting was about the Minimum wage increase that has caused ripples across the nations.
36 state governors had met last week and announced they would not be able to pay the N30,000 per month minimum wage being demanded by labour unions.
The governors also threatened to carry out a mass sack if they are forced to implement the new wage.
A committee was promptly set up to meet with President Buhari over the matter. Members of the committee include governors of Lagos Bauchi, Akwa Ibom,, Kebbi, Plateau, Ebonyi, Kaduna, and Enugu state.
