Murder Chris Watts 'killed pregnant wife and girls, 3 and 4, stuffed children's bodies in oil tanks to hide the smell.
Pregnant Shanann Watts, 34, and her two young children Bella, four, and Celeste, three, were reported missing on Monday by Chris Watts who made a tearful plea to find them
The 'killer' dad allegedly stuffed the bodies of his pregnant wife and their children, aged three and four, into oil and gas tanks to stop them smelling.
The remains of four-year-old Bella and her three-year-old sister Celeste have reportedly been discovered at the plant where their father Chris Watts worked.
Watts, 33, is accused of murdering the toddlers and his wife Shanann, who was 15-weeks pregnant with a baby boy they were going to name Nico.
Lawyers for 33-year-old Christopher Lee Watts, filed a motion on Friday in Weld County, Colorado, asking for DNA to be taken from the necks of the little girls’ bodies, and it strongly suggested they were strangled.
There has been no official cause of death announced in the case, after the bodies of Shanann Watts, 34, and the couple’s two daughters, four-year-old Bella and three-year-old Celeste, were recovered on Thursday from the oil field where Christopher worked.
Colorado is one of 12 states that does not bring murder charges for the homicide of an unborn child, and Christopher faces only three murder counts.
Christopher is being held without bail and faces three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of evidence tampering.
Formal charges are expected to be filed on Monday, and prosecutors are believed to be weighing the death penalty a rarity in Colorado, which has executed only one offender since capital punishment was reinstated in 1977.
